This course focuses on preparing you for the world of work. It focuses coverage of the skills, qualities and
attitudes that employers say are essential for their workplace and includes
communication, teamwork, time management, emotional intelligence, willingness to learn and resilience.
The objectives of the Trainee Orientation are as follows:
- To introduce Trainees to the HEART/NSTA Trust, the Institute and its services;
- To facilitate initial academic advisement to include an introduction to the principles and processes of Competency Based Training and Assessment;
- To familiarize Trainees with the campus environment; and
- To create an atmosphere that minimizes anxiety, promotes positive attitudes, and stimulates an excitement for learning.
